The first Louisville show ever, with the previously mentioned line-up, naturally took place at Sluggefar's favourite hang-out; Ris Ras. And a damn fine show it was. Helle Thorning-Schmidt actually had to go to the D:A:D concert across the street because it was impossible to cram more people in through the door. So for her, and everybody else who missed out big time, enjoy these previously undisclosed pics from that very evening...

After having having written songs for years and played them for people in his appartment, Jeppe Green Sørensen got a solo-gig at cafë Ris Ras in Aarhus. It was an instant success. A lot of people turned up for the show and a pleasant vibe, that soon would become a wellknown trademark for the band Louisville, filled the beer and smoke drenched saloon-turned-playvenue-for-a-night.
This was the summer of 2004 in Aarhus. And it wasn't the last we would hear from the talented singer-songwriter. By the start of the following year he had gathered a talented group of musicians to back him up. The band's name; LOUISVILLE SLUGGER taken from the american production team of Baseball bats. A brandname supporting one of Jeppe Green, by this time frequently referred to as 'Slugge-far', greatest heroes, former Creedence frontman John Fogerty. The new band members were; Stefan Sahl (Drums, Percussion), Anders Sandberg (Guitar, Steel-guitar, Slide, Organ), Frederik Langkær (Bass, Backin' vocals) and naturally Jeppe 'Slugge-far' Green (Lead vocals, Guitar). The pictures seen here are taken from various band practices with this line-up. And from studio sessions. Later on in 2005 Jeppe's old friend from Ribe, Anders Skaarup, joined the gang (more about this later).

This is a tribute page for one of the best danish bands out there right now. Namely LOUISVILLE. I've had the great honor of managing this band, and it's dedicated frontman, singer, guitarist, songwriter and barfly poet Jeppe Green. But one of my main contributions has been taking pictures to document the uprising of this musical giant of genius and originality. This country has been craving for a band like Louisville and now that it's here I believe it's only fair to let you in on the history. And that history is presented here with photos in chronological order, for your viewing pleasure, with a few words here & there along the way.
